Advanced Inter-Company

Many companies have gained efficiencies through concentrating activities on areas of excellence. This often results in increased inter-company transaction components, materials and finished product. Standard facilities around inter-company transactions are often restrictive and a burden in transaction handling, accounting adjustments and reconciliation.
Virtual Trader fully automates the inter-company process from creation to reconciliation, and allows the client to define the accounting produced, rather than customise the underlying Oracle system.

Buy/Sell and Commissionaire Agreements are recognised as effective and tax efficient trading models. However the full benefits are often not realised because of the effort involved in processing and reconciling the inter-company activity.
Virtual Trader provides extensive functionality that makes this inter-company activity flexible and effectively transparent. Our consistent and flexible approach provides functionality where none currently exists within standard Oracle, and many benefits over standard facilities such as ‘drop ship’.
Virtual Trader can equally be used to support the inter-company transactions arising from shared purchasing activities or transactions from legacy and boundary systems.

THE SYSTEM
  VIRTUAL TRADER WILL

Virtual Trader is designed as a companion module within the Oracle Application Set, and contains all the ‘Look and Feel’ of any Oracle Application Module.
Although it leverages some common functions within Oracle to achieve this, and can provide functionality across the spectrum of Oracle Applications, it retains a crucial independence. This independence is essential in minimising Oracle version dependency, and promotes processing of transaction sources outside of Oracle Applications.
The following features of Virtual Trader are commonly used to support trading models such as Buy/Sell and Commissionaire, and can be configured to support advanced multi-tier models such as Intermediate Reseller.

Automatically create inter-company activity back to back with trade transactions from any nominated business transaction e.g. customer invoice or group Purchase Receipt.
Support rule based accounting. This can be used to create additional accounting to support any number of different trading models such as Commissionaire, Buy/Sell and multi-tier Intermediate Reselling.
Transform operational transactions to reflect inter-company activity, such as a standard inventory transaction that crosses company boundaries.
Automate deferred In-transit/COGS accounting at point of delivery rather than at point of shipment.
Integrate transactions from legacy and boundary systems with Oracle, identifying and automating any inter-company transaction activity.
Eliminate the risk and cost of creating and maintaining customised solutions for inter-company activities.
Support different inter-company pricing methods; cost plus, percentage of sale, inter-company price list etc.
Control the parameters of the inter-company transaction; buy currency, currency exchange rate details etc.
Handle complex inter-company accounting. This often arises around transactions such as deferred revenue or multi-tier transactions.
Create all the necessary customer facing documentation and audit reporting of the inter-company transactions with both multi-language and multi-byte character set capabilities.
Eliminate the requirement to process, match and settle inter-company liabilities by transaction. Inter-company liabilities can be settled net at General Ledger level.
Simplify ledger reconciliation through advanced reporting. By automating the creation of inter-company activity discrepancies in inter-company accounting are eliminated.
Create composite reporting that includes the automated Inter-Company transactions for tax and INTRASTAT purposes.
Produce company accounting simultaneously in multiple formats, charts of accounts and accounting regimes.
